The DEVCOM Team is formed of world-class science and technology professionals, explorers and developers who are fully focused on empowering the future American Soldier. Many are considered the Army’s leading experts in their fields.
DEVCOM comprises seven technology centers, a research laboratory, the Artificial Intelligence Integration Center, and three international hubs. All components work together as one team in support of DEVCOM’s mission.

The Artificial Intelligence Integration Center
plays a critical role in the
U.S. Army’s transformation process.
AI2C focuses on accelerating the development and delivery of high quality, AI solutions that are tailored to conform to Army requirements and integrates AI solutions into Army operations. This involves collaborating with stakeholders like defense contractors, academic institutions and military personnel, to ensure the solutions are scalable and meet specific user needs.
Our people and products provide technical skills, knowledge and capabilities that allow leaders to quickly understand the operational environment and improve decision-making. We execute this through three lines of effort that support the Army’s transformation efforts: Workforce Development; AI Integration Activities; and AI Product Development.
AI2C prioritizes building a technically capable workforce through the AI Scholar and AI Technician programs to develop data scientists, data engineers and AI cloud technicians for the Army. Additionally, AI2C oversees the Data Driven Leadership course at Carnegie Mellon University and the AI 101 course to upskill leaders and everyday AI users.
DEVCOM directly supports three international hubs under AFC’s strategic guidance:

- AFC Forward Element – Atlantic
- AFC Forward Element – Indo-Pacific
DEVCOM and AFEs drive continuous transformation by:
- identifying cooperative science and technology opportunities;
- facilitating interaction with multinational government and non-government entities, industry and academia;
- promoting interoperability among allies;
- and supporting basic and applied research to develop capabilities and partner capacity that support the U.S. Army.
