Who We Are

We are the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM)

DEVCOM is the Army’s organic science, technology and engineering organization dedicated to developing combat capabilities.

We are the Army’s science and technology experts, fully focused on empowering the American Warfighter. We conduct basic and applied research, and lifecycle engineering that empowers the future Army.

DEVCOM drives scientific discovery, advances and improves existing technologies, and engineers solutions to technical challenges.

DEVCOM comprises six technology centers, a research laboratory, an artificial intelligence center, and three international hubs. They all work together as one team in support of DEVCOM’s mission to accelerate research, development and engineering to deliver Warfighter capabilities.

Mission

Accelerate research, development and engineering to deliver Warfighter capabilities.

Vision

DEVCOM is the Army’s leader and integrator within a global ecosystem of technological innovation and scientific exploration.

End State

Warfighters have the combat capabilities necessary to WIN on the battlefield of the future.

Artificial Intelligence Integration Center

The AI Integration Center focuses on accelerating the development and delivery of high quality, AI solutions that are tailored to conform to Army requirements and integrates AI solutions into Army operations. This involves collaborating with stakeholders like defense contractors, academic institutions and military personnel, to ensure the solutions are scalable and meet specific user needs.

Our people and products provide technical skills, knowledge and capabilities that allow leaders to quickly understand the operational environment and improve decision-making. We execute this through three lines of effort that support the Army’s transformation efforts: Workforce Development; AI Integration Activities; and AI Product Development.

The AI Integration Center prioritizes building a technically capable workforce through the AI Scholar and AI Technician programs to develop data scientists, data engineers and AI cloud technicians for the Army. Additionally, it oversees the Data Driven Leadership course at Carnegie Mellon University and the AI 101 course to upskill leaders and everyday AI users.
